Simple Yet Cute!



This is my way to teach shapes more creatively.  They are very easy for you to prepare, yet simple and fun for the children to complete. 

 


Children color the inside of the square and outline it with yarn.





Children fill in the center of the triangle with tiny squares of construction paper.

Look at how cute these are!

Here is a picture of a few of the monsters we created using Deanna Jump's directed drawing idea.  We also watercolor painted them as she suggests. I tied this into language arts by introducing letter Mm that week.

This was a math activity that integrated language arts.  We used pattern blocks to cover the fish template and we talked about what each of the shapes was called.  Then we added the bottom strip that students had to trace.  It says, "F is for fish." I did this activity after teaching letter Ff. 

 This is my version of the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activity.
